The LGBTQ Oral History Digital Collaboratory is excited to announce two new work study opportunities for University of Toronto students passionate about LGBTQ2+ history, oral storytelling, and community archiving.

Founded in 2014, the Collaboratory is a public and digital humanities initiative dedicated to preserving queer and trans life stories. From our extensive oral history archives to our collaborative projects on queer history, we work to ensure that these stories are not only remembered, but shared.

We are now seeking:

📌 LGBTQ2+ History Social Media Manager (CLNx Job ID# 252726)

A creative, driven storyteller with skills in social media strategy, content creation, and design. You’ll help amplify our oral history collection through engaging posts, reels, and visuals, while tracking impact and growing our online community.

📌 LGBTQ2+ Oral History Research Assistant (CLNx Job ID# 253069)

A detail-oriented researcher with a passion for LGBTQ2+ history, especially drag king culture in the US and Canada. You’ll support all aspects of the project, from interview scheduling and transcription to light video editing and blog writing.

Both positions are approximately 7–8 hours/week, with pay rates ranging from $25–35/hour, depending on degree program. These roles are largely remote and open to students from all three UofT campuses. We especially encourage applications from Black, Indigenous, and racialized students, trans and non-binary people, queer women, gender non-conforming people, and students with disabilities.
