Atticus Hawk

Atticus Hawk (they/he) is a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto. His research looks at the role of Leatherdykes in the creation of medical knowledge and harm-reduction practices for fat, trans and disabled bodies in kink. Passionate about patient advocacy and low barrier access to care, Atticus regularly engages in patient navigation, medical file reviews and specialist recommendations for trans people with complex and chronic health conditions. As our resident blogger (Fall 2023-Summer 2024), Atticus curated a monthly blog series, “The Gays Did What Now?” (TGDWN). Unearthing forgotten bits of queer Toronto history, TGDWN explored the places and spaces that made and shaped 2SLGBTQ+ neighbourhoods, hangouts, and cherished spots across the city.
