Elio Colavito is a PhD candidate in History at the University of Toronto, specializing in Sexual Diversity Studies. His research focuses on transmasculine histories of care, mutual aid, and community formation in 20th-century Canada and the U.S.
As Co-Oral Historian with the Pussy Palace Oral History Project (2021-2023), Colavito co-conducted interviews, assisted with digital archiving, oversaw the collection of donated ephemera, generated interview summaries and transcripts, and contributed to digital research-creation initiatives. He now rejoins the LGBTQ Oral History Digital Collaboratory as a Project Associate for the Drag Kings Oral History Project, expanding his work on queer and trans history through new oral history methodologies and community partnerships.
